State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs)

SCECHs are credits awarded for Michigan Department of Education (MDE) approved in-services, workshops, trainings, conferences, and individual professional activities, that are used for the renewal of selected certificates issued by the MDE.

Options to Earn SCECHs

Individual programs may offer SCECHs if they meet the time requirements and an application has been submitted 30 calendar days prior to the program offering.

For programs, check with the facilitator(s) at the time of registration to see if SCECHs are offered. SCECHs cannot be granted retroactively; registration must be completed at the program. You can find out which COOR ISD programs offer SCECHs by reviewing the course details available under the  Professional Learning tab on the COOR ISD website.

How to Access SCECH Records

The MDE has transitioned to the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS), which now provides a central depository of all SCECHs awarded, from all sponsors. The MOECS website: www.michigan.gov/moecs.
